GeoTalent Flex System Architecture & Performance

GeoTalent Flex is designed to meet the needs of organizations of all sizes. For large organizations, system performance is critical to the success of the implementation. Flex employs a sophisticated new data access layer to ensure optimal performance for all customers.

GeoTalent Flex utilizes a COM library that encapsulates the GeoTalent API. This design allows incoming page requests to operate concurrently in a single-thread multi-instance environment and significantly increases the performance on a server.

With high volumes of time-intensive transactions, the performance of the service will no longer degrade. For very high-volume environments, multiple load-balanced servers are still recommended until patterns of usage and through-put can be established.

To facilitate an easy migration to this new environment, GeoTalent Flex can be configured to process custom macros on a request by request basis. This lets existing customizations continue to operate using the GeoTalent core (Console), while other requests, such those that are SCORM-related, can be processed through the COM library.

This mechanism allows customers to migrate to GeoTalent Flex in a much shorter time frame and at a lower cost.
